What to Expect with NuLYTELY

Be sure to follow your doctor’s instructions and carefully read the information that comes with NuLYTELY.

The day before your colonoscopy, dilute NuLYTELY by adding water up to the top line of the NuLYTELY bottle. Cap the bottle and shake it to dissolve the powder.

Drink 1 (8 oz) glass every 10 minutes, until the rectal effluent is clear or 4 liters are consumed. Drink each glass quickly rather than drinking small amounts continuously. The first bowel movement usually begins approximately 1 hour after the start of NuLYTELY administration. Continue drinking NuLYTELY until the watery stool is clear and free of solid matter.

You will still have loose bowel movements for about 1 to 2 hours after you finish drinking the solution.

In clinical studies, NuLYTELY was well tolerated by people taking it before their colonoscopy. The most common side effects that people experienced were overall discomfort, abdominal fullness, nausea, abdominal cramping, and vomiting. Before your bowels start to move, you may experience some of these side effects.

If you have severe bloating, distention or abdominal pain, stop drinking temporarily or drink each portion at longer intervals until these symptoms disappear. Call your doctor if you have any questions about taking NuLYTELY.
